Here's why Polytechnic students make better Engineers

Engineering is defined as a combination of science and art of applying skills of physics, mathematics, and technology for the betterment of mankind. Regarded as a noble profession, engineers are respected and valued all around the globe as they connect the society with science. Engineering is not only about learning the different principles, laws, and formulae but the ability to apply the factual knowledge for simpler day to day lives of humans.

An engineer must be well endowed with a trained technical mind and knowledge to gain value and demand. Technical skills and knowledge is of utmost importance and in today’s age not underestimated in the least. If you are an engineer with above par knowledge and a set of technical skills, there is no doubt you will be held in high regard.

According to the present scenario, the stream of engineering is a hot favourite. There are two different ways to graduate in engineering. One is to pursue engineering after the higher secondary exams, i.e. 12th board exams.

Another way is to opt for a diploma in the preferred branch of engineering. Diploma courses are offered by polytechnic colleges in India. In this diploma course, students get three years of education in the branch of engineering they prefer. This is then followed by three years graduation course of engineering.

In the higher secondary education, students receive two years of science education, viz. physics, chemistry, and mathematics after which they are admitted into the engineering colleges where they receive four years of engineering education. In the case of polytechnics, during the course of all 6 years of diploma and engineering, students obtain theoretical knowledge as well as core technical knowledge and hands-on experience.

The subjects polytechnic students are taught are almost similar to the subjects included in the engineering curriculum but simpler. This helps in building a strong foundation of the learning process. Also, the education received by the students during their higher secondary is not very application oriented whereas, polytechnic students follow a curriculum which is application based.

It is safe to say that polytechnic students make better engineers as they obtain more practical knowledge and experience. When they set foot in the industry, complete with a technically sound mind and brain, they are priority candidates for core technical industries. Why? Because with a trained technical mind comes an ability to work more efficiently to solve problems and provide solutions at a faster speed and thus deliver better results.

Rank 8 – Top college of Engineering of Excellence!

Albert Einstein said, “Scientists investigate that which already is; Engineers create that which has never been.” Aspiring engineers of today will be the global leaders of tomorrow! The world is dependent on engineers to invent groundbreaking human-friendly technology.

But today, these innovative engineers are largely dependent upon the basic lessons of engineering they receive in the institutes they’re admitted to. Every young mind, seeking to be a successful engineer will always want the best education there is and will desire to learn in the best institutes there are!

Amrutvahini College of Engineering, Sangamner is in the top ranks of engineering colleges in India!

Amrutvahini College of Engineering, Sangamner has ranked 8th in the ‘Ranking of Top Engineering Colleges of Excellence’ in India and AVCOE is the only college from Maharashtra to make it to the list! It has also been ranked 9th in the ‘Top Engineering College Ranked by State’ in Maharashtra by the CSR-GHRDC Engineering College survey of 2018 and we’re proud of the laurels we’re winning! CSR-GHRDC (Competition Success Review-Global Human Resources Development Centre) is a research-based organization which rates and ranks engineering colleges according to excellence.

Three Pillars of AVCOE’s success!

The success of AVCOE is entirely dependent on three factors:

  • Academics

AVCOE offers UG Courses in Mechanical, Production, Computer, Information Technology, Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electrical and Civil Engineering. AVCOE also has an MBA program for post graduate education. The environment of AVCOE is very student-friendly. All these departments are appointed with well-learned and knowledgeable faculty to impart knowledge to the students and guide them in their journeys towards success.

  • Infrastructure

AVCOE is located at Sangamner and the campus is spread over 25 acres area of land. The campus is very scenic with plenty of trees and a milieu of hills encircling the college grounds. The departmental buildings are well equipped with modern facilities, up to date libraries and the state-of-the-art laboratories. We also have a workshop set up with sections for various processes like carpentry, welding, turning and so on. A hostel for good quality accommodation facility for students is also built at the campus.

  • Campus Placement

AVCOE has collaborated with some of the most reputed companies around the globe likeTata Consultation Services, Metalis, Texas India, Reliance,Volkswagen group Academy, BSNL,IBM [Excellence Centre], PRAKARSA, MITCON, NVIDIA [CUDA Centre], NPTEL [Video Lectures] etc. We also conduct soft skills training, technical competitions, guest lectures and various other personality development workshops for the all-round progress of students.

We are honored by the accolades we have received and we will now work with more zeal towards the betterment of the country by shaping young, ambitious minds to be the budding engineers and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.
